Michael Blighe – Chief Risk Officer, L&G Asset Management (Europe)

Michael leads the Risk and Compliance teams in L&G Asset Management (Europe), ensuring all aspects of risk and compliance are properly managed for the business. Michael is also part of the European senior leadership team, as well as being part of the global Risk & Compliance senior leadership team. Michael chairs the L&G Asset Management (Europe) Risk & Governance Committee, and is a standing attendee at the Board.

Michael has been involved in the charitable sector for several years and was previously a Board member of Belvedere Youth Club and Rare Diseases Ireland. Michael also previously served on the Audit and Risk Committee of the Irish Heritage Trust and is currently a member of the Audit and Risk Committee of the Royal Irish Academy. Michael has been on the Board of Feach for over 4 years and also recently joined the Board of Neurodiversity Ireland.

Michael has a PhD in Computer Vision, an M.Sc. in Applied Computing, an M. Sc. in Sustainable Development, a Postgraduate Diploma in Carbon Accounting & Lifecycle Assessment, and a B.Sc. in Information Systems. Michael is currently completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Cyber Security.
