Our Accessibility Statement

Neurodiversity Ireland is committed to making our website as accessible and inclusive as possible for all users, including disabled and neurodivergent people.

Ireland and the EU, public sector bodies must comply with EN 301 549, which aligns with WCAG 2.1 AA. Organisations must also maintain an up-to-date Accessibility Statement.

Our Commitment

We aim to ensure that the Neurodiversity Ireland website is accessible in accordance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, as referenced under Irish and EU accessibility legislation.

We are actively working to design and maintain our website in ways that support:

  • Screen readers and assistive technologies

  • Keyboard navigation

  • Clear structure and predictable layouts

  • Readable text and sufficient colour contrast

  • Plain, understandable language

What we’ve done so far

We have taken the following steps to improve accessibility on our website:

  • Used clear headings and consistent page structure

  • Added alternative text to meaningful images

  • Ensured links and buttons are clearly labelled

  • Designed pages to be navigable using a keyboard

  • Avoided flashing or time-limited content

Our website is built using Squarespace, which provides a strong accessibility foundation across templates and navigation

Known Limitations

We recognise that some areas of the website may not yet be fully accessible. For example:

  • Some older content may not yet have full alternative text

  • Video or audio content may not always include captions or transcripts

We are committed to addressing these issues over time and welcome feedback to help us improve.
